circles of accountability

What is a Circle of Accountability [COA]?

A Circle of Accountability is an area or people for which we take responsibility for sharing and showing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why COAs?

90% of our time is spent outside a church building or program. The people we rub shoulders with in our homes, work, schools, and neighborhoods (where we live, work, and play) are the ones to whom we are called to proclaim the Gospel.

What is the point?

People in general tend to default to thinking and acting to the benefit of themselves. COAs are our way of being target driven in the multiplication of the church. Corporately, a COA means asking God to give us a geographic sphere where we can empower and mobilize our resources to ensure every man, woman, and child has the opportunity to see and hear the Gospel.

Where are MDC's circles?

Missio Dei Church has 3 Circles. The circles are laid out according to specific streets as the markers for where they begin and end. Our 2 House Churches and the Funny Bone Comedy Club are the hubs for our circles.

How do I get involved with COAs?

A good starting point is to get involved with a House Church. From here you will begin praying missionally for the people around you. As a group, discussion and strategy will take place for outreach into the community. Another point for involvement entails your creativity and giftedness, along with your God-given passions. How can those things be used to extend God's Kingdom in Huntington? Thirdly, participate in coordinated events and activities through MDC. Finally, be deliberate in your personal circles--home, work, school, and "3rd Places" like the gym, coffee shop or frequented grocery stores and restaurants.
