A House Church is a gathering of individuals and families in a home to explore and encourage what it means to be a Christian, and to engage our communities with the Gospel. Simple really.
We believe the informal environment of the home, along with the size of the gathering helps promote the accountability and transparency necessary for discipleship. With House Church, there is a sharper focus to take the church to pockets throughout our city. Therefore, we believe House Church to be a prime way to both be and make disciples.
Each House Church has its own unique feel. Generally, prayer, discussion, scripture, laughs, and food will be a part of the equation.
As much as possible we want kids to be a part of House Church gatherings as both they and the adults benefit in this. For very young children, groups may decide on a variety of options from parents rotating supervision, sitters, another HC providing care, or planned activities kids can do alongside the adults.
If one time works better than another, that may be a deciding factor for you. Also consider your geography and which location may be closer to your home for the purpose of reaching out to those around you.
If it happens that certain commitments or conflicts make it difficult to attend one HC over another, then just go. It is better to be involved than to not. Ideally, we want you to commit to grow, serve, use your gifts, and be on mission through your house church.
